He was born in Prescott some seventy years ago and came to Port Hope from Detroit Michigan where he was manager of the Ideal Manufacturing Co. In Port Hope. He then established the Standard Ideal Company and it became one of the the town's leading industries. About 1915 he severed his connections with this plant and it then became known as the Port Hope Sanitary Company. (manufacturers of sanitary china, toilets, etc.)
He died while visiting his daughter at Waterloo, Ontario.
Interment in the Port Hope Union Cemetery. The funeral was held in the St. John's Anglican Church, conducted by Rev. A.G. Emmett. As a mark of respect, the stores drew their blinds at the time of the funeral. Members of the Town Council attended in a body as a recognition of Mr. Bush's services as Mayor of the town for three years. ![]()
