A. Irene grew up in Stratford, attending Romeo Public School and Central High School. She worked for a few years in a factory sewing car seats, also in a knitting factory. She enjoys music (singing), needlepoint, crocheting & knitting. She attended the Salvation Army citadel in Stratford in her growing up years, then joined the Pentecostal Church there.

Peacefully, at the Leisure World Care Giving Centre in Orillia, on Tuesday, December 28, 2010, in her 93rd year. Irene Fangrad (nee Peake), beloved wife of the late Jonathan Fangrad. Much loved mother of David and his wife Patricia of Orillia. Loving grandmother of David, Terry and Susan and great-grandmother to Stephanie, Jonathan, Lynsey, Alana, Megan, Rachel and Sarah. Dear sister of Jack Peake of USA and the late Cecil Peake. Visitation will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James St. E., Orillia, on Thursday, December 30, from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service in the chapel at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Gideon Bible Memorial Plan or the Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family.

Irene married Jonathan FANGRAD, son of Gottlieb FANGRATH and Augustine GROSS, on 1 May 1936 in Stratford, Perth, ON, Canada. (Jonathan FANGRAD was born on 21 Feb 1909 in Nogath, Kr. Graudenz, W.
